Thanksgiving...

Sean and I once again hosted a family Thanksgiving celebration, only this year we were missing some people and added a few more. We were blessed to have my parents, Sean's parents, Sean's brother and our nephew join us.

It started with a to-do list on Wednesday night that had 36 things on it from washing rugs, to eating supper, to food prep. In the food prep mix was a new recipe for me... a lucious 4 layer pumpkin cake. Makes your mouth water, doesn't it? I'm a HUGE cake fan, but don't always make the best cakes (well, definitely not bakery worthy at least). It was a bit complicated (for me) because I had to slice the two cakes in half to make the 4 layers. Not the straightest cuts in the world, but at least it tasted good. Wanna see it?

Mmmmmm... scrumptious!!! Warm caramel drizzled over and pecans sprinkled on. Yumm-o!

See... like I said. Layers not cut evenly but OMG. This was HEAVENLY!!!!!

Then came Thursday. We all (yes, including Keelyn) got up at the crack of dawn (no wait... before the crack of dawn) getting ready. I pulled the nasty stuff out of the turkey, got it all ready to go and shoved it in the oven by 6:30am. Then it was on to more food prep. Peeling potatoes, cutting meat, cheese, laying out plates, laying out ingredients for all the other side dishes, putting the ham in the crockpot. The list goes on and on, so I won't bore you (anymore) with the details. I will, however, show you what my fridge looked like and my counters...

Stocked and ready for company.

All the fixin's.

Believe it or not, I unfortunately did not get any pics of Keelyn with any family member, but I did snap a few of her...before she had a blowout.

Little Miss Chatterbox... try Little Miss Chunky. Check out those rolls :)

Or...Little Miss Cutie-Pie :)
