5 Months (+ one week)

It's so hard for me to believe that on Christmas Eve, our little princess turned 5 months. I know I've said this before, but seriously people, where has the time gone?!?!?!?

At the ripe old age of 5 months, Keelyn...

~sleeps 11 to 12 hours at night

~loves to eat! Green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce & cereal, and pears & cereal

~has 2 super sharp teeth on the bottom

~likes to put her fingers up my nose then giggle

~has the cutest giggle I've ever heard in my entire life

~lights up the world with her smile

~melts my heart

~weighs 17 pounds!!!

~loves to wrap her fingers in my hair and pull

~likes to pull her shirts & dresses up, even though her Daddy tells her not to

~is turning into a thumb sucker :P

~still has her beautiful baby blues

~shows no interest in rolling over, but when laying on her tummy will move her legs in a crawling-like motion

~likes to hold her hands up when she gets her picture taken

~has the happiest, proudest Mommy & Daddy that any little girl could ask for.

Christmas with the Lynam's

On Sunday, we ventured up to Ankeny to Bill & Sharol's house (Sean's uncle & aunt) for the Lynam family Christmas. It was a fun-filled day to say the least! Here are some pictures to prove it!!!

Christmas Day 2009

We woke up bright and early on Christmas Day for Keelyn to open her last gifts and stocking from Santa and for Mommy & Daddy to eat a yummy sausage & egg casserole. The rest of the day we lounged, did some laundry, and had a great day, just the 3 of us.

Again, thanks to Mother Nature, we were unable to make it to Sean's family for Christmas. Instead, we decided to do some family pictures by our tree.

Nellis Christmas, Skype style

Wednesday morning was supposed to be when we all opened our presents...together. Instead, Mother Nature reared her ugly head, so while my family all sat in my parents' living room, we (Sean, Keelyn and I) sat in our basement and opened presents via webcam & Skype**.

**Side note: To any of you who have good friends or family that live longer than 15 minutes away from you, I highly suggest purchasing webcams and downloading Skype. It's a free, online way to make phone calls or video calls.

Though not what I wanted/expected/hoped my daughter's first Christmas with my family would be, it was still wonderful and will always make a great story.

Keelyn received an entire wardrobe from great Aunt Julie, great-Uncle Bob, Grandma Sally & Grandpa Dale. You won't see the clothes for another 2 years though... they're big into buying bigger clothes so we have them when we need them.

Nellis Christmas face-to-face

We ended up having 2 Nellis Christmas's. We did a very quick one Tuesday afternoon before we headed home, and a second one the next morning. More on that on the next post.

As for the face-to-face, we adults opened our As Seen on TV gifts (this year's theme), and let the kids open a few, too :).

Keelyn's first CD player. She was only 4 months here! What is the world coming to?!?!? :)
