Weekend Wrap-Up

Wow!  Sunday night and I'm BLOGGING!  I know... to some, it may not be that big of a thing. To me, it is.  I've gotten the laundry washed, dried, folded & put away, supper made, eaten & cleaned up, husband and daughter put to bed, and now I'm actually taking a few restful moments to update you all on our weekend.

Lovebug and I left Papa & Mmmm Sah-yah's house today (much to everyone's dismay) and traveled back to our lovely home.  Lovebug slept the entire way {jealous}.  We had an absolutely wonderful time!

After Lovebug's nap on Saturday, I gave her a quick bath, changed her into her party outfit, and then she and Grandpa Dale had some horse rides before we left.

{serious work here folks..the lady must ride slow and proper}

{we can get a little more of a smile... the gentlemen ride a little more fun-like}

{ahh!  The crazy cowboy riding!!  Who do you think is having more fun?}
Grandma Sah-yah's musical was quite the hit... and Lovebug and all her cute glory was a close 2nd :). The dinner was super fun. Lovebug noshed on her hot dog and french fries and of course, her vanilla malt. Me? I had a pork burger. Seriously...I SOOO miss the small-town pork producer meals. That burger was awesome! And my chocolate malt was pretty good, too ;). As for the musical, it was very good... what I was able to see of it. Lovebug and I spent a fair amount of time roaming the halls as I was the paranoid "oh my goodness, my kid just made a noise I don't want to disrupt anyone" mom. This, of course, after the first scene. Picture it... sitting in the back row of a dark auditorium, the kids finish a song, people clap, then it gets quiet.  The lights go out, and all of a sudden...

"uh-oh!!!!"

shouts a curly-haired girl. I wanted to bust out laughing at this, but I had to do the responsible thing. I took her into the hallway where I busted out laughing. Surprisingly, she stayed awake {barely} to give Mmmmm Sah-yah a big hug and kiss before Grandpa Dale, Lovebug and I headed back home.

This morning, we all slept in, dined on cinnamon rolls, then I got in a 30 minute power nap while Papa and mmm Sah-yah got in some much-needed granddaughter play time.  A win-win for all :).

Fast forward to Coach's weekend....

He put up a new shelf in my laundry closet like I oh-so-subtly mentioned I'd like to have on Saturday morning, hung out with a buddy on Saturday night, then started his new coaching gig today.  Poor guy isn't feeling the best, so he's been in bed for an hour already tonight.  Let's hope he can battle through!!

And that, folks, is a wrap on this crazy busy weekend of ours.  Here's hoping you had a great one, too!

Fun at Papa and Sahya's House

Lovebug and I made it back to surprise Grandpa Dale and Grandma Sally Papa and Sah-yah last night before Grandma's musical.

Lovebug has not quite mastered calling Grandma "grandma".  Nope.  Instead, she is calling her Sah-yah.  Mmm Sah-yah.  Grandma Sally.  At least we know she's not confusing her with anyone else :).

Today, Grandma and I took Lovebug for haircut #2.  She was a much better participant this time around.  Super glad that she got it 'cuz this girl's hair was out of control!!

{holy fro!!!}

{throwing in a little play time before the big cut}

{serious hair issues here people}

{let the spritzing begin}

{o.k.... so maybe she got a little annoyed}

{finished product.  she's telling Dada all about it}

Lovebug is now napping to prepare for some serious eating and dancing she's going to be doing tonight at Grandma Sally's middle school musical.  It's a '50s themed one this year... so to start, we're eating burgers, fries & malts :).  YUMM-O!!!  Let's hope Lovebug is a good little girl tonight.  And that she doesn't scream too loud for Sah-yah :)

I'm a Big Kid Now

Remember that commercial?  Though we're not in Pull-Ups yet, we are moving up in the world.  Or down, whichever way you'd like to look at it.  Lovebug has graduated from high chair to booster seat.  And here is the proof.

{gotcha!}

And now that she's using said booster seat, we're finally getting to use the placemat that Grandma Sally & Grandpa Dale gave her for Christmas!

I'm sure you can also tell that her first celebratory meal was a McDonald's happy meal.  Yep.  That's how we roll.

More Daddy/Daughter Love

{same smile}

A few weekends ago, we went out for lunch with Grandma & Grandpa Lynam, Aunt Mandy and her friend Rob, and of course, cousin Marshall.  Being the proud Mama that I am, I just had to take this oh-so-adorable picture of Lovebug and Coach.  This time, they're playing with Dada's sunglasses.

These two go together like...
~peanut butter & jelly
~peanut butter & banana (I like peanut butter lately)
~the two robot dudes on Star Wars
~sugar & spice (I'll let you decide which one's which)
~the moon & the stars
~chips & dip
~socks & shoes
~night & day
~a Daddy and Daughter should :)

A Daughter and her Dada

It's no secret that around Lynamland, Lovebug's favorite person is her Dada.  It's so fun for me to see that special bond being formed between them like the special bond I still have with my Dada :) {though I do hope that my daughter doesn't go through those horrendous teenage years against her Dada like I did to mine :(}

Way back on Superbowl Sunday (yes, I know it was forever ago), Lovebug and Coach had a blast goofing off together, as you can see below.

Disclaimer:  These pictures were taken with my phone.  My camera has decided to keep itself locked up in my school bag... which sometimes ends up sleeping in the van all night instead of coming in to get used.  Photo quality not the best, but you'll get the jist.

{sweet shades Dada!}

{L-O-V-E}

{they have this thing together... she rubs his head}

{what a good Daddy to wear these... and get his picture taken}

{my two favorite, happy, loveable people... and one crazy loveable dog}

19 Months and more!

It's hard to believe that our little Lovebug is 19 months old today!!  I'm happy to report that at the age of 19 months, Lovebug...

~talks nonstop!  (with a few, ahem, naughty words she's picked up from Mama & Dada)
~talks nonstop about... you guessed it... poop!  "mama poot, dada poot, Iya (Holly) poot, Edgar poot".  We've gotta get this girl out in the world some more!
~eats like none other!
~has transitioned from high chair to booster seat :(.
~runs all over the place
~touches her hair when asked "where's your pretty?"
~loves to take baths... but hates to get her face wet
~has to wear some of Mama's smellies when she sees Mama put it on
~knows when we turn onto our street... and starts yelling "Dada!!"
~hams it up whenever anyone stops by to visit... as they're getting ready to leave
~has NO little brother or sister coming soon (contrary to the questions we receive from lots of people)
~HATED when she had to come in from playing outside (ya know, last week when it was nice... not now that we're going to get more snow)
~has 1 week *knock on wood* left to wear her arm brace
~eats 1/2 of Dada's toaster strudle or cinnamon roll in the morning before going to daycare... but won't eat her own
~hates to drink milk at home, but loves to drink it at Holly's
~has a new found passion for string cheese
~hates to ride in a cart or stroller.  Nope.  This girl has to walk... EVERYWHERE!!
~is turning into the world's biggest Daddy's Girl (which, I have to say, is probably the sweetest, cutest, greatest thing I've ever seen)
~loves to pretend talk on any cell phone
~has learned how to turn my cell phone on & off, unlock it, and scroll through pictures.  Texting will soon come, I'm sure.
~sees a sporting event on TV and immediately yells "Hawkeyes!!"

I don't have any pictures to share with you (I know... that's what you all want) tonight, but I will work on that within the next day.

Tomorrow, Lovebug and I head back to Grandma Sally & Grandpa Dale's for a little R&R, another haircut for curly (wait that's both of us... Curly #2), and to watch Grandma Sally's middle school musical.  Let's see if Lovebug can put her dance moves from Back in Black to some middle schoolers livin' it up oldies style.

As for now, Lovebug and Coach are both sawing logs and I am finally starting to get feeling back in my mouth.  I had a dentist appointment tonight to fill 2 cavities (of which were not my fault... they were deemed as developmental... which is now why kiddos get sealants) and the dentist had to give me 4 shots of novacaine!!  I know, right?!?  One of the {many} pains of being a redhead... it takes 2-3 times the amount of meds to numb me.  Dr. T said it would be gone in a couple of hours.  It's literally 6 hours later and there are still numb spots.  The worst part?  It still hurt during the work, but I couldn't handle any more shots.  I loathe shots.

Well there you have it.  19 months and more :).

Happy Valentine's Day

From Lynamland

This year we decided to send out Valentine's Day cards instead of Christmas cards.  Why not, when you have a little one named Lovebug, right?!?  Right!  Plus... doesn't everybody like a little pick-me-up around this time of year?   Now, ahem, some of you will be seeing this one first then getting yours in the mail in a few days.  I seem to have forgotten {again} to mail them on time.  Shoot!

Oh well, just know it's coming!!

Lovebug's Valentine Party... Part 2

I told you I'd have more :)  Really, it's all thanks to Holly for emailing these to me.  If I'd be trying to do this at home, I'd be fighting an oh-so-cute, curly haired cutie pie.

{the gang... minus poor Alexander, who is suffering from the flu :(}

{hard at work}

{lovebug's contribution to the party... a yummy heart-shaped pizza}

{since when did my big girl become SUCH a big girl?!??!}

Presents for Friends

Last night, Lovebug and I worked on making Valentine's to take to her friends at daycare.

Holly always says I fit into the "first time over achieving mother" category, so why not up the ante this time?

So, here's a peek at what we I did for her 3 friends.

As it turned out, I was actually prepared for this party a week early.  The problem?  The forgetful person I am (can I still use pregnancy brain as an excuse?) forgot the baggies I'd already made at school {good use of planning time}, so I had to rush to Michael's last night and as luck would have it {and a good Clearance sign to boot!}, I came across these.  Last minute work is always my best :)

Lovebug's Valentine Party... Part 1

I couldn't wait to share this with all my stalkers followers... a picture of Lovebug getting ready to start her Valentine's Day party at daycare

Only Lovebug would make her touchdown pose in a Valentine's Day picture :D

Dare Devil Lovebug

As Holly so lovinly put it today...

"and we wonder why she has a fracture!!"

In other news, Lovebug has learned how to take her splint off... twice!!!  I'm eagerly awaiting a phone call from the doctor to see if they have a different idea for us.  I'm thinking cast.  A pretty pink one (gasp!)  Yes... I just said pink.  After all...she does have to wear it on Valentine's Day :D

Good Luck Daddy!!!

Today Coach has an interview to be the Head Varsity Coach at the high school where he is currently Head Freshman Coach.  With this lil' cutie (and me, too) standing behind him, he's unstoppable!

Good luck honey... we're all hoping and praying you get the job!  You're the best Coach ever :) :) :)
