Dear Lovebug

Dear Lovebug,

In a few short hours, you will celebrate your first birthday.  My, oh my, I can't believe this time is upon us.

This first year of yours has brought joy, laughter, {humility}, exhaustion, frenzy, excitement, love, admiration, worry, and so many more feelings I can't even begin to describe.  The love... oh, the love... that you have brought your Daddy and I can never be matched.  Nor can the love that we have for you.

As I watch you sleep {peacefully} in your crib, I think back to some of my favorite memories of your first year.  I remember when...

... you got your first tooth at 3 months!
... you made your Daddy proud wearing your Iowa onesie every.single.Saturday during football season
... you slept through the night for the first time
... your first cold and how I wished I could take it away from you
... your pooh face :)
... you had TONS of hair, lost it all, then it grew back curly!!
... you smiled at me for the first time
... you gave me sloppy kisses
... you "watched TV" with your Daddy nearly every.single.night
... you finally rolled over
... you were the cutest ladybug for Halloween
... you became intent on watching Bogart and Edgar
... you crawled for the first time
... you got more excited about seeing the remote than me :)
... you giggled when your Daddy and I would give you "the look"
... you began taking your first steps
... you decided it would be fun to wake up in the middle of the night... after you'd slept through the night for 7 months straight!!
... you pretended to talk on our cell phones

Lovebug, you are the cutest, most curious, fiesty, loving, caring, mover-and-shaker and I am the proudest Mama this world has!  Your Daddy's pretty proud, too :).

We love you Lovebug!!

First Steps!!!

Yes folks, you read it right.  Lovebug has just taken her first steps within the last hour!  AND guess what else?  I got it on video for you to see :) :) :)

Quite the feat for me, huh?

I will apologize in advance for the video near the end.  You will get a nice shot of my super clean ceiling fan and freshly painted ceilings {hey, a seller's gotta plug their place when they can, right?}

With no further ado, I introduce you to the newest walker!!!

Ahhh, weddings

Last night, Coach, Lovebug and I traveled back to Coach's hometown for a wedding.  It's hard to believe that it's been 6 years since our wedding.  But I digress...

The wedding was wonderful, the bride {breath-taking}, and the sunset on the lake... beautiful.  Coach was excited to take Lovebug out onto the dock by the reception.  How cute are they????

They stood out there and posed for a few more pictures which I will show you in a minute.  I also got this one as they were coming back up from the dock.

We came back in and the restaurant was SCORCHING {we're good friends with the manager, who also happened to be a groomsman and he said they've never had that large of an amount of people in the place at once} so we decided to head out.  BUT... not before Lovebug had a picture taken with yours truly :).   Those type of photos happen rarely, ya know?

Even though she wasn't looking, I was pretty happy {as you can probably tell}.  Not only was I happy I was getting my picture taken with Lovebug, I was also happy to be in that dress.  Don't wanna toot my own horn but toot toot!  Down a size!!!!!

Anyway, back to the event itself.  I'm so sad that I didn't get a picture of Liz in her stunning glory, but here are probably the best pictures of the night.

Daddy/Daughter Days

Now that Coach is {finally} finished with baseball for the season, he and Lovebug are getting more opportunities to spend time together.  Yesterday, they went to Menards.  Today, Wal-Mart and QT.  Granted, these trips may not be like trips to Disney World.  They are, however, those precious times between a daddy and his daughter a.k.a alone time for Mama :).

eating ice cream together

Seriously, though, when these two come home, they are smiling, laughing, talking, and there may have been a small push given to yours truly from Lovebug when I tried to hug her and Coach upon their return.  Then again, I'm not sure if it was because I was getting too close to her Daddy or her straw... (she has a thing for straws these days).

This just may be the cutest picture I've seen in a long time.  Don't ya think?

Who do YOU think had the best time?

Mayhem!!!

Casa de Lynamland has been in mayhem for the past two weeks.  Why?  Well, for the four of you that follow this regularly, you already know that we have decided to put our house on the market.  Yep.  We are going to attempt to sell our first home.

We've been doing a lot... a LOT to our home to prepare for this.  We painted the outside, painted the master bath, painted the living room, took out 1/2 our furniture, put in a new ceiling fan/light, cleaned the carpets, switched out lightbulbs, staged, staged, and staged some more, boxed up 1/2 our possessions, and are awaiting our new floors in the bathrooms, kitchen/dining, and entryway sometime this week.

I will post pictures of all of the improvements we've made, once I find my camera and charge it up.  Seriously folks, I don't even know anything is anymore.  I'm just hoping that someone will walk through our front door and want it to be their front door.  Time will tell I guess.

If you know of anyone that would love a 3 bedroom, 1 3/4 bath, split foyer with fresh exterior paint, fresh interior paint, newly refinished basement, stainless steel appliances, oversized deck for entertaining, large privacy fenced in backyard, new roof, new garage door, and new laminiate flooring, tell them to look up Bob Eisenlauer, our fantatic realtor, and come visit Casa de Lynamland :)

11 Month Update

Hard to believe it, but Lovebug is 11 months (and, ahem, 1 week and two days) old now.  I know how hokey this sounds, but seriously, where in the world did these past 11 months, one week and two days go!?!??!?!?

Here's a little update on Lovebug.  Unless you are immediate family, you may get bored with the rest of this post.  Sorry :(

Teeth Facts:  We're still rockin' the four teeth (two on top, two on bottom).  She has some holes in her mouth where you can see that more teeth are trying to come through, but why do that when that would mean that you could no longer whine, cry, bite your Mommy and get away with it?

Eating Facts:  Lovebug loves to eat... still.  I know, shocker, right?  Nothin' like her Mama, oh no :).  Ha!  I wish!!  Lovebug has hated that oh-so-gross paste-looking cereal for quite some time now, so we start the day with some yumm-o fruit, then she has either a piece of toast or 1/2 a waffle.  This followed by a 4 ounce bottle.  Between 10:30-11:30 we nosh down on lunch.  This varies from a veggie & fruit (yes, still baby food) or a stage 3 dinner & fruit (again, baby food).  Once she downs this, she then gets the real stuff... whether it be 1/2 chicken pattie, chicken nugget, 1/4 meat & cheese sami.  A tasty 6-ounce bottle follows this.  A snack will usually come later.. this could be crackers, cheese, or some of those Gerber Graduate snack things, with her favorite being the maple syrup & brown sugar ones.  Supper is the same as lunch, and another 6-ounce bottle before bed.  Lovebug LOVES herself some cheese (side note: cheese does not stop her body from digesting food, if you catch my drift), and HATES fruit & veggies unless they are in puree form.  We try nearly every day to get her to eat the real stuff... we'll see who wins on this one.

Sleeping Facts:  Lovebug has decided that, now that it's summer vaca, she would rather skip the morning nap, and only take an hour long nap in the afternoon.  Plus, she goes to bed around 8:00-9:00pm.  Why sleep when you can spend more time with Mama & Dada, right?!??!

Speaking Facts:  Lovebug says:  Dada (which by the way, she doesn't say all that often), Mama (gotta love it... she says it all.the.time now!), Grandma (thanks to Grandma Sally for teaching her that), buh-buh (bye-bye), BoBo (Bogart), bfo (phone), ooooo (when she sees ANYTHING!!)

Gross Motor Facts: Lovebug is crawling all.over.the.place at a pretty fast speed.  She pulls herself up and will walk alongside things. She la la la LOVES to hold onto Coach's or my fingers and walk around.  She has figured out how to climb up on our step stool, fireplace hearth and her little Dora chair and sit.  She makes the cuh-UTEST "uh-uh-uh" sound while doing it.  She loves to pull herself up and hang on our gate.  Pretty much, she's all over the place.  Oh, she also likes to throw her baseballs and roll her red ball, too.

Favorite Song Facts:  If you even begin to say anything with the words Patty or Cake, you are gonna see this girl fuh-REAK out and start rollin' her hands like none other!

Other Fun Facts:  She throws the best kisses, gives the best kisses, likes to play with a random girl scout cookies box (yes, I still had one in the freezer!), can get LOST in a book or her Legos, loves when you hold her upside down, has the cutest heart-melting giggle, claps for Daddy's baseball team at all their games, is learning how to make our rocking chairs rock, hates water on her face during bathtime at the same time, splashes like none other, gets mad when you eat in front of her (even if you are a complete stranger in a restaurant--she will let you know!), likes to pretend to drink pop from a bottle or can, has this weird obcession with holding something while she's being fed her babyfood, shows her strong distaste for you if you won't let her hold your cell phone while you're talking on it, loves her stroller rides, and is by far, the most loved girl in the entire world!!!!!

As far as a picture goes, my camera is dead and at this moment in time, is also MIA.  More to come on that in my next post.
