Are We There Yet?

What a trip we had this weekend.  No, it did not consist of traveling in the Mom Bomb.

It consisted of traveling up and down this...

Why?

Because it was our house painting extravaganza, that's why.

My parents made the 2.5 hour trek down to help us get as much painted as we could.  We all worked really hard, but there was one person who worked harder than anyway.  And that person was Coach.  He BUSTED his booty, got semi-over his hate strong distaste of heights, and helped transform our home.

Here are some pics of what the house used to look like when we moved in almost six years ago...

(notice: no retaining wall, no plants on the side, old shingles, and a small, wimpy deck)

Here is a pic of the front of the house being halfway painted.

And here are some pics of how the house looks now...

(notice: bigger deck, new singles, landscaping, landscaping, new chimney)

Speaking of that new chimney, do you see how far up that is off the ground?  Coach, my knight in shining armor, climbed up on a ladder (as well as the roof) to get that painted.  Doesn't it look awesome??!??!?

Wait!  There's more!!!

See how far up the paint is done here?  Oh yeah.  I did that.  I, too, got over my strong distaste fear of heights and climbed up the ladder.  Not gonna lie.  My mom helped (and laughed at) me with this side.

And here is the front.  Almost done.

All I could think (and probably Coach, too) was are we there yet?  Household projects seem to drag on at times, but oy vey this one is taking the longest time of them all!  I'm super excited about the way it's turning out.  And... we'll all be even MORE excited when the peak above the garage gets painted.  What's better is that a neighbor down the street offered to paint it FOR US!  Give that man a woot woot!

Well folks, that's a wrap for me.  I am on my way to bed.  I think it's been asking if I'm there yet for awhile now :)
