A Busy Day

I feel like Miss Spider... I have had a very busy day.

It started off with getting lil' Lovebug out of bed, getting her bag packed, and sending her off with Coach to Holly's house for the day.  Then, it was time for me to get ready and head into work.

While at work, I wrote an IEP, taught the shrimpo's some stuff, sang some songs, did some emailing, cleaned my table, taught some more, did my bus duty, and started my to-do list for tomorrow.

This was followed by coming home to empty out Lovebug's closet and dresser of her too small clothes and put in her just right clothes.  Then I did not one, not two, but FOUR loads of laundry tonight!  I know, right?!?  Plus, in the midst of all of that, Coach, Lovebug and I ran to Best Buy and Wal-Mart (window shopping for a bigger TV for the living room), as well as a drive-thru at a local fast food chain (that really wasn't very fast tonight) for an oh-so-yummy supper.

I also cleaned the kitchen counter off, put a few things away, did some oh-so-important Facebooking, and am now reading the paper from *ahem* every.single.day of this week that I may or may not have just taken off the front porch, as well as writing this thrilling post, don't ya know.

Wanna know where I'm doing the last two things at?  While laying in bed of course :).  Window open, Real Housewives of D.C. on TV, and a nice cold glass of water next to me.  Ahh... the good life.

Our Favorite Meal

This morning I decided to whip out the crockpot (since I can actually keep it upstairs in my kitchen instead of downstairs in a closet) and make a roast with carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy.  Mmmmm.... my mouth was SALIVATING for it all.day.long!

Coach said I could make this meal for him every day and he would love it.  Me?  I'd get a little sick of it. 

As for Lovebug, this was *ahem* her first experience with carrots since I stopped giving them to her as baby food.  She wasn't quite sure what to think at first, then she ate all of hers... and mine, too! 

I was super excited to start using the crockpot again.  I can't wait to come up with more crockpot suppers now that fall is right around the corner.

Lessons from Lovebug

Lovebug has been cuh-racking us up with her latest "talking".  It's not as great in this particular video... but imagine her curly-haired self waddling around our house doing this at the top of her lungs.  At least I always know where she is in the new place :)

Our New Home

Here it is everyone... our new home.  I was going to do some before & after's, however I realized that would be way too many pics and really, who cares about what it was before anyway, right?  Right.

Sooo... let's start as you walk into the house from the front door...

If you take a left from here, you will enter our formal dining room...

{ok, so it's more like Lovebug's toy room right now...}

and here's the view of the same room from the opposite side...which is also the doorway of our kitchen...

If we were to go straight through from the front door, we would run into this...

Now, if you turned right from the table instead of left, you would be in our living room...

If you go up the stairs to the 2nd story, you would walk directly into the guest bath/Lovebug's bathroom...

and if you go slightly to the left, you would go into Lovebug's room...

If you look out in the hallway in the above picture, you can see the stairwell.  If you take a right out of Lovebug's room, you would walk by my laundry and head straight into the guest room...

Sorry to tell you all, but the master suite (oh yes, it is a suite) is not up to par for photos.  The bed didn't get made, I have some laundry to fold, and I have NOTHING on the walls!!  I promise to get that done soon so I can show you pics of our room.

Now, we head down to the man cave/family room :)

This little area behind the couch is going to turn into Lovebug's Corner.  I can't wait to show you pictures of what it is going to look like.  I'm SOOO excited to get started on it!!!

If you go through the doorway in the back of the basement (see 2 pictures up), you enter this 4th non-conforming room.  As of now, it's the office.  In a few years, the guest room will make its way down.

There is also a 1/2 bath downstairs, but my vision for that isn't complete either, so that's another thing you're going to have to wait for.

There you have it.  Home sweet home.  We couldn't be happier!!!

Happy Monday

Pretty much every Monday, we get an email from Holly with a picture (or more) of Lovebug.  Sometimes she's by herself, and sometimes she's with her boys.  Today she was with the boys. 

Can she BE any cuter?!??

A Wonderful Weekend

Hello all,

Don't adjust your screens... I am actually posting.  For real!!!  I know, I know.  I've been away far too long (unfortunately, I don't have a picture to put on here today though).

For the first weekend in a month, I got to relax and do some fun stuff!  Unheard of, right?  I know!

My mom & dad came down this weekend and while Coach, my dad, and our realtor Bob went to the Iowa/Iowa St game, my mom, Lovebug and I went shopping!  We all made out pretty well.  Lovebug got some new pants, tights, and a few shirts, I got a new pair of jeans and a new sweater (BOTH a size SMALLER!!!!), Mom got some pants and shirts, too, and my favorite buy of the weekend?  No, not the 1000 count baby wipes from Costco.  It was my new fall decor from Hobby Lobby.  I was SOOOO excited to get some new decorations for the new place!

Today was full of putting in a new kitchen faucet, cleaning up a leak from the old kitchen faucet, and FINALLY hanging pictures and things on the walls on the main level!

I will be taking pictures tomorrow and getting them posted tomorrow because I am SUPER excited to show off the place to you all now :).

As far as Lovebug goes, poor thing had to go to the doctor on Wednesday.  Turns out she's just like her Mommy & Daddy... she got our allergies :(.  The doc gave us some eyedrops for her (same as her Daddy uses), and told us to get some OTC Zyrtec for her.  She's had 5 days worth and her nose is almost done running.  Such a good feeling for all now!!

A Hawkeye win, shopping fun, decorating and relaxing... the makings for a perfectly wonderful weekend.  Can't wait for it to roll over into a perfectly wonderful week!
