8 weeks old & more

We last left off with Keelyn being diagnosed with her first ear infection, Sean being sick, and me being tired. It all continues... but add in me being sick, too. The flu shot? Yeah... I think it added to the sickness. Darn things!! I know, I know, some people may not think the shot will get you sick, but I think it aided in it.

Anyway, Sean is feeling better, thank GOODNESS! As for Keelyn? She's still quite stuffy, and her eyes are still mattery. Sooo, if she's not better by noon tomorrow, I'm getting her back to the doctor. Poor thing :(.

Thursday night I gave her a bath and Daddy snapped a pic of our frogger when she was all done.

In good news, Friday meant 8 weeks of life for Lil' Miss Keelyn!! So, I had to dress her up, right?! Right!! Plus, Keelyn went with Holly to go see her Mom, Virginia. We couldn't let Virginia see her sloppy, now could we. Nope!

Keelyn may have looked like a little lady, but Holly informed us that Keelyn emptied her system quite nicely for Virginia. Nice. Poor lady :(.

Today, Keelyn and I hung out while Daddy went to his beloved Iowa game. Sean seems to think Keelyn is his their good luck charm when dressed in gold, so you can guess who got her dressed this morning.

Sick and Tired

We have some sick and tired people here in Lynamland these days.

Keelyn started showing signs of congestion Friday night, and by yesterday the poor thing could hardly breathe :(. I ended up making a doctor's appointment for her today and when there was told that she has an ear infection. Poor girl. She never ran a temp, so I wasn't as concerned about her so-called cold, but I sure am glad I got her taken in (a public thanks to Grandma Sally for pushing me to get her to the doctor!).

Soo... she is on the good ol' antibiotic Amoxicillan, plus has some eye drops for the nasty gunk that's creeping out of them. One dose of each medicine is in her and I really feel like it's starting to help. For starters she ate more tonight than she did all day, she doesn't sound as congested, and she's sleeping more peacefully.

On top of Keelyn having this ear infection, Sean has a cold! He's gone to bed VERY early the past two or three nights and is also pretty congested. He's also dealing with some pooey behavior stuff at school which is making him feel even worse... and way more tired, too. Let's hope he doesn't get an ear infection, too!

As for me? Well, I'd probably be the most tired of all three of us. I've stayed up worrying about Keelyn, and have had to do a bit more around here since poor Sean isn't feeling up to snuff. To be preventative, I did get my first ever flu shot today at school. Let's hope it helps me out this fall!

In other news, I did get to find out how much Keelyn weighs when I took her to the doc. I'm proud to say that she is up to 11 pounds 9 ounces! I also got the camera battery charged so here's a pic of our sleeping sickie. Hopefully I will be able to get some lively, smiling pictures posted soon.

I Slack

Hi. Remember me? It's me, Heather. Ya know, creator of Lynamland. I have apparently been busy (seems to be a 'tis the season thing for several of us bloggers) and am slacking on my blog posts, among other things.

I still haven't charged my camera battery, therefore I was unable to capture pictures from this end of the week and weekend.

The highlights?

* Keelyn enjoyed her first week of daycare (while Mommy & Daddy enjoyed getting picture updates of how she was doing :)
* I enjoyed going back to work, though Tuesday was a very hard day. My students were very happy to be back and I liked being back to the routine of it all.
* Keelyn attended her first Iowa/Iowa State game.
* Mom & Dad came down and the whole fam went to the game (I worked, Dad & Sean watched the game, Mom watched Keelyn while I worked).
* Some good friends smuggled in some good pumpkin bread for us workers at the game
* Mom, Dad, Sean & Keelyn went to stand by the Hawkeye semi at the way end of the game (while I was still working) where they met God (aka: Kirk Ferentz himself). Keelyn told him congrats, to which Ferentz (again, this is all hearsay as I was WORKING!) said "no, congrats to you" then touched our daughter's toes. I know, I know... Ann & Missy, you're puking your guts out over this as you read, but Kendra, you understand how much this meant to Sean, right?!?!? Right!!!
* Keelyn got to snuggle with her Grandma Sally & Grandpa Dale :)

The lowlights?

Keelyn has her first cold :(. I feel sooo bad for her and wish I could have it instead of her. To help my lovely neighbor gave me some Johnson & Johnson's eucalyptus bath wash. I also got a humidifier for her room and am hoping and praying these things help get rid of it and SOON!!! She must not feel too bad because she's still got a good appetite and is FUH-ULL of smiles! There's nothing better in life that watching your baby smile.

Well, there you have it. Now I am going to clean the kitchen, finish up the laundry, lay out my clothes for tomorrow, and charge the camera battery. G'night stalkers :)

I Was...but...so

I was going to post about my first day back on Tuesday, but I couldn't STAND to take my eyes off Keelyn for one second, so I didn't get it done.

I was going to post about Keelyn's first big day at daycare, but I couldn't STAND to take my eyes off her...again...still...so I didn't get it done.

I was going to do a fun Wordless Wednesday post (with captions), but I ran out of time before my head cried out for my pillow, so I didn't get it done.

I was going to post Tuesday & Wednesday's thoughts this morning from school, but I had to answer phones in the office, so I didn't get it done.

I was going to charge the battery in my camera due to it nearly dying last night, but I forgot to plug it in at school (or here at home tonight), so I didn't get it done.

I was going to do a fun post of Tuesday, Wednesday & today's thoughts, but I did laundry, grocery shopping, kitchen-cleaning, and playing with Keelyn instead, so I didn't get it done.

I was going to put a few of these pictures on my previous posts, but I didn't get them done, so you get to see them now.

Sittin' up like a big girl.

Staring at her Yankees musical bear.

A priceless picture...at least to me :)

Where to Begin???

So much to tell, too few pictures to show you. Let's see, I guess we'll start with last Friday.

On Friday, Keelyn and I packed up the mom bomb and headed to my parents house for the weekend. We both wore our purple & gold LOUD AND PROUD (except I forgot to get a picture of it) to try and bring my beloved Panthers good luck in Saturday's game. Shoulda had her wear it on Saturday. Stupid me!!! Anywhosers, we stopped at Grandma Sally's school where she got to show off her granddaughter to all her friends. Then, I got my hair cut (for the first time since, wait for it... February. Gasp!) Friday night meant lots of grandparent spoiling snuggling.

Saturday was jam-packed full of fun! Of course, being the nice wife I am, I dressed Keelyn in her Hawkeye crap garb, and well, you all know the result of that mistake!

Anyway, back to the story..first, we traveled to Odebolt where Keelyn got to meet her great-grandma Vi.

After a short visit there, we came back home and started getting ready for the wedding of my classmate, Cari. Keelyn and I looked GREAT (if I do say so myself), but again, I forgot to get a picture. Sad face. It was super fun to see lots of people from back home. The best part? They all ooed and ahhed over her :). Yep, I'm a darn proud Mama!!

Sunday meant going to church (Side note: a pair of twins born one day before Keelyn got baptized. The boys name? Yeppers, you guessed it. Kinnick. Shoot! Sean was not a happy camper when I showed him that. If we have a boy next, I may have to give in...). After a yummy lunch, Keelyn and I packed the buggy back up and headed home. You would think we would have stopped there, but oh no, not us. Then we went to a fun Labor Day party at some friends' home in Carlisle.

Monday was spent doing some much-needed laundry and some much-loved family time including lunch at Applebee's, a shopping trip to Target, and some serious cuddling with Keelyn.

Today was a new step in this journey called parenting... the reality of going back to work :*(. Of course, I cried when I dropped her off at Holly's, but got better when I got to school. The best part? When the day was done and I got to rush home to my baby. Holly, being the wonderful woman she is, made sure to send us two emails today, one of which included a picture of Keelyn and her 3 new boyfriends.

Watch out world!

Tuesday's Tidbits

Well it's been a few days since I last posted. Not a ton of stuff going on here... just enjoying my time with Keelyn, and enjoying my time away from work. Never thought I'd say that last part!!

Anywhosers, KeeKee and I are running lots of errands this week as we prepare to head to Early this weekend to see Grandma Sally & Grandpa Dale. A classmate of mine from high school is getting married, so we're making the trip back for that. Unfortunately, Daddy has to go to the Iowa vs. UNI game (I know, what a shame, right?) so he won't be going with us.

Yesterday, Keelyn and I headed to Ankeny for day 1 of errand running. We also visited the Starr house to drop off some important things to them. While there, lil' Miss Keelyn decided she was going to have the BIGGEST blowout (to date, that is) and being the newbie Mom that I am, I had forgotten to put a spare outfit back in the diaper bag after I had cleaned it out on Sunday. Missy saved the day and lent us a spare outfit. Gotta love those experienced Mom's being there to help us newbies!!

Today, Keelyn and I are headed to WDM for day 2 of errand running. In the works? Younkers, COSTCO, and a few other places (that is, unless Keelyn gets too fussy). Not the best night of sleep for her last night, so I'm hoping she'll fall asleep on the way there and stay asleep. Mama's gotta get her shopping on!

seriously... can she get any cuter?

Tomorrow is the BIG 6-week check-up and some more shopping. Gotta enjoy this week just in case it's my last week of maternity leave, right?

Thursday night is the first ISU game, so I'll be dropping Keelyn off with Sean at school (of course when he's done teaching) and heading up to Ames to work.

But for now, we're off to WDM.
